#Play4Change Fundraiser Novelty Match in Honor Of Ebola Fallen Heroes (with Photos) | @HouseOnTheRockC

On Saturday, 8th November, The Young Executives (Teen Church) of The House On The Rock Church played host to #Play4Change, a novelty match fundraiser in honour of Nigeria’s fallen heroes and health workers who sacrificed their lives in the process of containing the deadly EBOLA virus, which threatened our country recently.
The fundraiser was set to raise a minimum of Two (2) Million Naira, with all the proceeds realized from the event, donated to the families of Dr. Stella Ameyo Adadevoh, Dr Amos Abaniwo, Nurse Justina Ejelonu and Mrs. Ukoh, the ward maid who attended to the index case, Mr. Patrick Sawyer.
It was an inspiring event, which had in attendance families of these health workers, health professionals and workers at the First Consultant Hospital, Obalende, Lagos, representatives from the Ebola Containment Trust Fund, journalists amongst others.
The Novelty Match
11 Organizations, 66 Players, 1 Cause
There were three different matches featuring players from 11 organizations, with each team comprising of boys and girls from participating organizations. Team Adadevoh contended with Team Abaniwo in the first round, which ended in penalty kicks with Team Adadevoh making it to the final rounds.
The next round had Team Ejelonu battle with Team Ukoh, with Team Ukoh making it to the finals.
Team Adadevoh won the novelty match, and all teams received the AGILE Hero Award to be presented to the families of the honoured heroes.
The AGILE Initiative
The #Play4Change initiative was suggested and largely organized by The Young Executives (Teens Church) of House On The Rock Church, under the banner of AGILE philosophy which seeks to entrench the values of Awareness, Graciousness, Innovation, Leadership and Excellence in the Nigerian youth.

Mrs. Shade (Coordinator, The Young Executives HOTR)
Coordinator of the Young Executives, HOTR, Mrs. Shade shared with Praiseworld Radio the idea behind the AGILE initiative, stating that “AGILE is a movement, a lifestyle. The #Play4Change idea was raised to create awareness, and bring out the leadership skills in the teenagers as the thought of some teenagers who must have lost a dear one in all of the saga kept going through their minds. They decided as a church to do something, to be gracious to the families of these fallen heroes.”
She appreciated the teenagers, Church, parents, friends, the media and all who have supported the course so far.

Pastor Goke Coker (#GodFessions; Associate Pastor, HOTR)
Praiseworld Radio also spotted Pastor Goke Coker, The ‘GodFather’ of the prophetic devotions / declarations show, #GodFessions who speaking on the event, stated that the Young Executives idea was touching and amazing. Sitting in the midst of the families of honoured heroes, he thought about the fact that people really do care, which is really encouraging. Stigmatism has been managed and the church is standing on the fore front in the fight against Ebola and is ready to support the families of those who stood their grounds through this fight.
He thanked God for the Federal and State Government, the Church and everyone who has helped in curbing the disease, stating that it took exactly 90 days for the WHO to declare Nigeria Ebola free.
Going forward, he called out to Nigerians to support the families of those who have lost dear ones to the benefit of Nigeria, because they need all the support we can give.

Dr. Roberts (Health Director HOTR) with Pastor Ikemefuna
Speaking with Dr. Roberts, Health Director, HOTR and Member, Ebola Containment Trust Fund, she mentioned that she’s not in any way surprised at what the youth of the church pulled off, as they are called out to live the AGILE philosophy, which they have truly demonstrated and there is room for more improvement.
Nigeria is a great country, she said, also giving kudos to the health workers who constantly put their lives on the line, stating that when people go into the medical profession, it is not about the money, but for the passion for lives and the readiness to do all they can to carry out their calling.
It is her hope that fellow Nigerians will take the challenge to respect and care for health officials who put their lives on the line whilst making Nigeria a better place, as ebola is not the only menace that these health workers have had to contend with but we have also succeeded in winning the fight against polio amongst others.
#Play4Change was a huge success, as the Church was able to exceed the targeted amount from the fundraiser which indeed depicts that Nigeria cares that the “Labours of our heroes past are never in vain”

Vigor Awards Is Here To Stay – Founded by Award Winning Actress & Philanthropist @QynnAmina of @VigorAwards
Praiseworld Radio is glad to partner with Vigor Awards as her official International Media. For more info, please visit www.vigorawards.com
Purchase your tickets as well on www.vigorawards.com
The purpose of the Vigor Award is to seek to honor those individuals who would not ordinarily receive recognition or be publicly appreciated for their selfless efforts to enhance the lives of people around them, through their unrewarded volunteering efforts or through humanitarian work or by acts of valor in extraordinary circumstances.
=============================================
Because of first-hand experience with some of these unsung heroes giving into her own life, Queen Amina has been given the vision to seek a venue in which those who rise above their circumstances, or those who see the needs of others despite their circumstances can be recognized for a brief moment in time. That ordinary people giving in extraordinary ways might be treated as the VIP’s that they truly are, even if the majority of the world does not know who they are. The people chosen are to be from various ethnic groups, enhancing the recognition that all races, colors, and creeds add to the value of community, whether on a local, national, or international scale.
=============================================
The desire to create a platform for this vision was heightened by Queen’s experience as a rising actress and her participation in Red Carpet events pertaining to the entertainment industry. The seed was planted to recognize individuals who give of themselves selflessly in a similar manner, knowing that there is no such ceremony in the world that specifically recognizes volunteers, humanitarians and achievers. To be able to recognize them as “stars” of life is the ultimate aim of the Vigor Award.

PHOTOS: Memoirs from 2016 Rhyme and Reason Concert | @RandRconcert
One of the best Spoken word concerts in Africa took place on Saturday, 11th June, 2016 and lovers of poetry within Lagos, outside Lagos and other parts of Africa gathered at The Dome, Lekki, Lagos Nigeria for the 2nd Edition of Rhyme and Reason “The Excision“.
The event was full to capacity as more people streamed in through the gates to see four of the best international Spoken word artistes; Jackie Hill-Perry, Preston Perry, Ezekiel Azonwu and Janette…ikz.
Members of the audience were in awe at how much Ezekiel was able to get into the devil character while performing ‘The Letter”. Ezekiel and Janette…ikz pulled off a grand show in “Ready or Not”, and Janette.
ikz got into her role by wearing a wedding dress. The crowd went wild when Preston and Jackie Hill-Perry performed “The Fall” and they didn’t stop screaming for more than five minutes! Preston’s “Jesus is God; and I dare you to tell me otherwise” line was repeated by the awed crowd long after the event was over.
Our very own home-grown Nigerian artistes also owned and rocked the stage, with Gaise, Plumbline, Atilola, DJ Mordu, OR.RAW.DAY and Ibk Spaceship Boi giving amazing performances.
One moment to remember for a long time was when Ezekiel led a typical Nigerian worship session in which he literally stole the heart of his fellow Nigerians.
To those who missed the event, you’re not left out, here’s a link to watch from
The Excision is certainly a show to remember for a long long time and Rhyme and Reason is getting ready to take the bar triple higher on their next event. Follow Rhyme and Reason for updates on upcoming projects.

Obiora Obiwon Heralds 38th Birthday and 10th Career Anniversary Project with New Single
Lagos, NG — Over the past one week, urban gospel act, Obiora Obiwon, has actively taken to Social Media with the promise to drop a single from his forthcoming album on his birthday, June 9, 2015.
The new single unveiled yesterday, entitled “Floodgates (The New Overflow)”, marks the beginning of a new season for Obiora Obiwon as he clocks 38 years and officially begins to mark 10 years in the music industry. The artiste reflected,
“They say it’s my 38th birthday today, but it’s You My Lord I celebrate. Thank You for giving me You. Thank You for giving me the abundant and eternal life, joy, peace and fulfillment…”
DOWNLOAD
Obiwon’s professional music career journey started 10 years ago in 2005 with the release of his first EP (short form album) entitled “Get ‘Em Up”. The EP’s lead single with the same title was remarkable for pioneering the use of 3-Dimensional Animation in Nigerian music videos.
In recent times Obiwon has been noted more for his unshaken resolve to impact the Nigerian gospel music scene, Nigerian youths and the entire society using the medium of his faith-based music.
His transition from the secular Pop/R’n’B genre in 2008 was initially received with mixed reactions but has slowly gained acceptance in recent times, with Obiwon being featured in both faith-based and secular events. Between 2014 and early 2015 alone, Obiwon clinched 7 gospel music industry awards for the stellar work on his 2013 album, Gold Water.
The release of new single “Floodgates (The New Overflow)” today gives a foretaste of the 10th anniversary projects, which will include an anniversary album aptly entitled “Floodgates: The Beginning Of The New Overflow”.
On the full album scheduled for a November release, Obiwon further mines his musical romance with long-time production collaborator Phat-E, credited for past Obiwon hits including “Hail My King”, “Obi Mu O” and the bulk of work on his last two albums. On the new single, Obiwon and Phat-E experiment with a mix of both conventional and unconventional sounds, as well as lyrics rife with symbolism.
The months ahead will see the artiste announcing the entire project plan for the commemoration of the anniversary, themed “Soli Deo Gloria” as an Anniversary Logo.
ABOUT OBIORA OBIWON:
R’n’B-Singer-Turned-Urban-Gospel-Minister Obiora Obiwon received his first gospel music honours at the 2013 National Gospel Awards and has gone ahead to receive multiple honours at notable gospel music industry platforms between 2014 and 2015. Prior to this, Obiora Obiwon’s previous work was also recognized and awarded at notable Nigerian music industry award platforms. The impact and influence of both his faith-based and preceding work continue to grow both locally and internationally.

Praiseworld’s Reality Radio Show At Ada’s Crib. How It Went Down (with PHOTOs)
Fun filled!
Love filled!!
Mind Blowing!!!
Reality Radio Show 2 was all this and more at Ada’s crib. The delectable gospel artiste had the Praiseworld Radio Family at her beautiful home on the 24th of February ’15.
She shared with us LIVE ON AIR what her afternoon experience is like when she’s not in the studio cooking up new gospel tunes for gospel music lovers.
Praiseworld Radio listeners were treated to few facts and exclusive information about Ada, including some unreleased songs which she sang to us, her favorite spot in the house (a corner between two chairs with throw-pillows stacked together), Inspiration zones (which included pacing around the house), her wonderful skill of using the pots, pans, utensils and raw food and turning it into amazing meals for her family (which we also experienced first-hand)
With different hands on deck, a three course meal was whipped up in record time.
Goatmeat Stew.
Boiled rice.
Fried Plantain.
Correct Ijebu garri laced with Milk, Sugar, groundnut and chunks of coconut on the side with refreshing cold water to go… Phew.
Bowls of ice-cream and soft creamy cookies rounded up the whole Food-Ministry.
Ada is fun!
An amazing, talented and beautiful gospel artiste of this generation.
She has two beautiful and adorable children and a darling husband.
From The CEO himself Tola, the spice on the Mic overseeing the downing of each meal by everyone to Provabs’ manning of the fried Plantain so A’cube wouldn’t touch to Gamie posing for pictures like he was born to do it to Kishi with his undercover picture-taking skills of the camera shy AwhyOfGod to Ma’am Yele’s helping out Ada in the kitchen and to the listeners tweeting and calling in, we can say Reality Radio Show @AdaEhi’s crib was REAL alright.
It was as real as Jesus’ birth people.
Yes, we never forgot God amidst the fun.
So who’s next? Who’s crib are we storming next? Do you have a clue?
Let us know…
WE ARE PRAISEWORLD… Woohoooo!
