Next on The Experience Lagos #ArtisteFocus Series, is Amaka Okwuoha – Chioma Jesus.
A lot of us thought only our eastern friends would love to be ministered to by Chioma Jesus. We were wrong!
Though her first time at The Experience Lagos, we were all blessed beyond our imagination and she carried everyone along. Worshippers had to unveil their dancing shoes to bring their grooves on.
We don’t recall any of our correspondences being indigenes from the east, but in their words, “we felt like we understood the Igbo language”… That’s priceless!
Chioma’s music ministry began in her early days at The Scripture Union Fellowship where she served as a minor chorus leader and sang without any form of musical accomplishments or instruments.
Even though she is Ibo by origin, the first song she ever released was written in the Yoruba language. She came into the limelight after being nominated by the Delta Yadah Awards in 2013. Her most popular song titled “Praise” was released in 2011. This release earned her top place on the Nigerian Gospel Music Charts.
Chioma is one of the representatives of Nigerian gospel music as she is able to capture the relevant message of the gospel in a few major Nigerian languages.
She is a real legend of her own country and the lyrics of her songs are well known – not only in Nigeria, but across Africa.
