Evangelist and recording artiste Carman Licciardello, popularly known as Carman is finally returning to the studio after 13 years to record a new album to be released in fall. In March 2013, The singer, songwriter and actor was diagnosed with terrible multiple myeloma cancer, and was given three to five year life expectancy by doctors.

According to Carman’s media team, “his terminal cancer diagnosis (has) paradoxically revived Carman’s creative spirit”. With 16 certified platinum and gold albums and videos, over 10 million albums sold and attendance records for the largest solo Christian concerts in history, Carman plans to record an album and video of new music for the first time in over 10 years.
“I cannot begin to tell you how many people have given me an encouraging word, a prophetic word, and how many prayers have gone up. When I see things like that happen, it makes me realize that God is doing something that’s much bigger than my life and a record. But for whatever reason, this is where it starts, this is the seed that is planted into the ground,” he said.
A campaign for a “new Carman album and music video” was launched April 19, 2013 branded “The Kickstarter Campaign” has hit the $200,000 mark much before the June 18 deadline. This is historic, as the most any Christian artiste raised was $105,000. “That money covers the whole recording process, producers, publicists, musicians, promotion budget, travel, distribution, photo shoot and personnel”, says Carman.

Carman is no stranger to rallying support. He has collected the most names on a petition in American history, with 1 million signatures for a constitutional amendment favoring prayer in public schools.
Since 1982 when he started off, he has garnered three Grammy nominations, sold over 10 million contemporary music albums, and won several GMA Dove Awards. Among his popular songs include “Satan, Bite The Dust”, “The Courtroom”, “This Blood” and others.
