Phreky Sax - Teach Me

Here is a brand new song titled ‘Teach Me’ from an exceptional Gospel artiste known as PhrekySax. The sax in his name is not just a fancy addition but actually denotes the fact that he plays the sax with dexterity.

Before the release of this current single, Phreky mentioned that some friends had told him that he should release a particular single they liked instead of ‘Teach Me’ because they said it’d make him known faster but that it had been laid in his heart to put out ‘Teach Me’ first, so he would rather obey God’s directive than try to be popular.

” This song was inspired by the Holy Spirit from some key verses in Psalm .119, and is a sincere, heartfelt prayer of anyone who truly desires to love, trust, obey, think, talk, live and act like God.

It is delivered with extreme precision. It has simple lyrics, a catchy melody and a sweet mid-tempo groove to it.”

ABOUT PHREKY

Born Ndifreke Esang, Phreky is a fast-rising saxophonist,singer-songwriter and flutist. Fondly called “Phrekysax”, he is signed under the imprint of “Music Splendor”, a record-label headed by ace-producer “Gbrown”.

Phreky was born and bred in the city of Calabar. He was raised in a music-loving family by parents who are singers themselves, who encouraged him to develop his musical gifts and to play the piano at the age of 13. Growing up, he was influenced by his father’s turn-table records of Mary Mckee and The Genesis, Andrae Crouch, Shirley Caesar etc, and these helped to shape his thinking and musical perspective while growing up.

He picked up interest in the saxophone at the age of 18 and has been playing incredibly well in church and on different platforms which include: “Moments with Mo” on Ebonylife TV, the “Calabar International Jazz festival”, Calabar Xmas festival etc. His musical influences are Kirk Whalum, Gerald Albright, Mike Aremu, Stevie Wonder, Brian Mcknight, Joshua Redman, to mention but a few.

A graduate of anatomy from the University of Calabar, this song comes off his debut album ‘The Spotlight’, scheduled to be released early next year.
