BLOG OF FAME: #PraiseworldRadioAt1 by Osadebe Ijeoma

I was at that point in my life where everything in my environment was soooooo sensitive. Now, I love music so much and I listen to anything with good beat and good sound but I was going through a phase in my Spiritual walk where I needed to censor what I saw and heard. I resorted to playing messages all day.

One day, I was going through twitter and I saw a tweet with “Now Playing” and I clicked on the link and listened to “The Praise O’clock show” with a funny young man (Tola) on air. I loved it and I suddenly got addicted and kept coming back every morning and then tuning off by 12 noon.

One day I forgot to tune off after 12pm and these two guys came on air (ACube and AY). ACube was busy pushing AY and AY was shooting himself continuously. I remember AY kept talking about a lady that will discover his purpose. I laughed all through that day and I was totally hooked to the show too.

Ever since, Praiseworld has been a daily affair, I have become the “Ear-phone IJ” in the office. I smile to myself when no one is around and sometimes I get these weird glances from people around. When some songs play, I shout and dance on my seat and some of my colleagues will shake their heads and laugh.

I remember a day I was really down and I called into the show sounding very low and ACube said I could call later, I did, we talked about it and I ended up feeling better. There are days when I tuned in, not in high spirits, and by the end of The Praise O’clock show, I am already beaming with smiles.

praiseworld-radio-official-logoI have been to different events where a particular song is playing and I am singing the songs word to word and people around are wondering how I know these songs. It’s like I practically know every artiste. People like Gaise Baba, Okey Sokay, Gameman, Henri Soul, etc have become friends through this platform.

Coming from a point where I had been of the view that Nigerian Gospel acts did not really have much to offer (pardon me), to a place where I hardly listen to foreign acts anymore.

I have made bosom friends (unforgettable ones) from Praiseworld Family and we relate like we have known all our lives.

PWR has been an all-round blessing and I thank God I am a part of this family (no regrets whatsoever). My prayer is that in greater platforms, when the gospel is recognized anywhere, Praiseworld Radio will be called up. We are all in this together and greater and higher we will grow.
