“GOD’S NOT DEAD” Just Hit Home!

God's Not Dead

Matter, space, elements, nature, love, miracles, new birth, faith, hope, plants, animals, creatures, the creator… in all of these, we live life like it’s all in our hands…

If God’s dead, then what is Life?

So I’m chilling at the cinema, probably that of my living room (I leave you to imagine) with Pure Flix Entertainment movie, ‘God’s Not Dead’, and I begin to wonder how worse off we Christians are compared to the atheists or even anti-theists when it comes to our faith. What do I mean? We believe so much in God, and sink deep into religion, passing it on to our children and our children’s children, but of a truth, we do not ‘believe God’…

“It is one thing to believe in God, it is quite another to believe God” – R. C. Sproul

Maybe, just maybe the movie succeeded in bringing you back to your senses, or it was just to you a form of entertainment… to me, and a few who’d agree same, it did hit home. If you’d just flow with me on this journey, I’d take you through a few words that spoke life to me. Quotes were lifted from the movie and I might not follow a sequence, but I hope it touches you like it did, me… and at this point, I’d say, if you’re yet to see the movie, you probably should go in search of it…

I wonder how many times we struggle with our inward and inner witnesses especially when we’re at a crossroad. We think that “something in us” always tells us what we should do at every point in time and yet each time, we ask “how does God speak?” When the still small voice inside of you isn’t satisfied with the choices the world wants you to make, it just might be the Holy Spirit interacting with you. Decide whether or not you’re willing to listen. It’s not easy, but it’s that simple…

And every time we’re faced with the opposite of what we believe, we try to “outsmart” the devil. We must know that the devil is everything but good, holy, sovereign… Don’t try to be too clever, just be content to tell the truth. The devil also gives wealth, performs miracles, gives children; the devil is music… but only God gives all of these, even much more than we can think or imagine and adds no sorrow to it. He alone is Holy, Good, Sovereign, the devil is not. So yes, the devil allows people to live a life of comfort, free of trouble, because he doesn’t want them turning to God.

So we get busy, put our hands into so many things at a time; we become smart, crowned with ‘the-world-can’t-do-without-me’ title and then I’m left with no choice but to say, “Hey Mr. busy, the world can do without you, it just might even be preparing to do that already. You must create time for things and people that matter, else, you could easily be replaced”. Point is, God has you exactly where He wants you. All of what you do now is just part of the “big design”, so you dare not place the assignment above the One who’s sent you; in fact, you must lean on Him and seek Him for guidance through His manual, The Bible… just saying.

We have heard this a couple of times that it’s not about what the world thinks or says, question is, what do you think or say? You don’t have to be smarter than the world, the God in you makes all the difference… So I’ll ask again, do you only believe in God or do you really believe God?

God's Not Dead post.

I usually have issues drawing up my scale of preference, and sometimes I’m faced with the big question, what is more important? Maybe I should ask you, who is most important to you? Is it God? If yes, then prove it! We give up ourselves, our reasoning, and our hearts to those who are not worth it all in the name of ‘love’. Now this part seemed like it hit at me directly, (she’s my namesake too, lol) Grow up Amy, love is the most over-used word in English Language, it’s what we say when we want or need something, you’re as guilty of it as everyone else… Maybe, maybe not… Still, we’re only human and we can only get hurt when the word “love” is misused BUT we must understand that to the wrong person, you’ll never have any worth; but to the right person, you mean everything… what else could depict love so true, in that a man should lay down his life for that of a friend? Remember, if it was just you, Jesus would still have died…

No man is an island, and so at every point in our lives we long for the right people to share life’s moments with. Some of us stumble into the pit of parasitic affairs, and we get so stuck in the mire that it’s hard to get out. You probably are in the wrong relationships and you just don’t know it. They probably don’t even love you, you’re just ‘convenience’ to them. Yet you choose to see what you want, fill your heart with assumptions and ‘what should have been’ we choose to ignore ‘what is’… Don’t just see what you expect to see in people… see the truth!

We cannot ignore the fact that we want to be ‘all’ for God, but still we wonder, why do bad things happen to good people and vice versa?… We try to explain all of the mysteries and the things we can’t see… what about the now, the present, and the glorious future ahead of us? Sometimes, we want to make too much sense. Let God be God, don’t try to help Him be God… Just remember that God is good!

Don’t be all about your circumstances because what looks to us like some blind unguided process could really be divinely controlled from start to finish. I once heard from a sage that you should not tell God how big your circumstances are, but tell your circumstances how big your God is. You know what? Thank God for His Word, because I read the last chapter of our book and guess what? We won! So act like the champion that you are. You must know that sometimes, No is also an answer. We spend our entire lives ‘talking’ about Faith… C’mon, Show Faith!

God's Not Dead post

Think of Jesus as your friend. Don’t disappoint Him even if everyone thinks you should. After all is said and done, you’re left in the hands of your Maker and when you look out the door, there’s going to be no one standing, waiting to hold your hand and take you through life but God! What circumstances make you doubt God? You’re probably not hurt because of what you’re going through but because you’re going through it all alone. That part shatters and I might not understand, but God does, totally…

Where do you find your hope? Maybe you have no hope but there’s someone that we know, we believe in and we believe can give you strength for this journey.

Some of us do believe God but we’re really stingy with our beliefs. We’ve seen it happen, things only God could have done, yet we doubt Him… The whole world is your platform, tell them about Jesus!

Are you ready?

“God’s Not Dead 2” In The Works; To Be Released Fall 2015 or Early 2016

Heads up guys!

Pure Flix CEO and Managing Partner, Michael Scott said his studio has a number of projects in the works for next year including “God’s Not Dead 2.”

“We’ve got a full slate next year. You’ll see ‘Do You Believe?’ which is coming in the spring… We’re looking at late March for the release next year possibly either fall or the following year you’ll see ‘God’s Not Dead 2,'” Scott said.

It is unclear how Pure Flix plans to continue the first film’s plot. The movie portrayed a college student who accepts his atheist professor’s challenge to provide a defense for the existence of God and Christianity.

Pure Flix co-founder David A.R. White told the Blaze in August, “A lot of the feedback that we received from the first one [centers on the questions], ‘Where do these characters go on to?’ ‘What happens to them after’? We’re taking all that into consideration.”

The film studio is currently filming “Do You Believe?” in Michigan and hopes to finish filming by the end of the month. [Culled from ‘The Christian Post’]
