World Hope Foundation Set To Honor Singer/Humanitarian, Nikki Laoye On World Humanitarian Day, August 19 | @NikkiLaoye

Lagos, NG — August 19th is celebrated worldwide as World Humanitarian Day, a day set aside to honor and recognize people who have dedicated their lives to help others via humanitarian causes.

For this year’s celebration in Nigeria, Recording Artist/Humanitarian, Nikki Laoye is being honored by World Hope Foundation, a Global not-for-profit public charitable organization, based in Nigeria and USA, at their World Humanitarian Day event, holding tomorrow, 19th of August 2015 at Oriental Hotel, Lekki Lagos.
As part of celebrations for this special day, The Organization in partnership with other interested stakeholders has organized a seminar tagged “Humanitarian Essential” to motivate and empower NGOs, Social Enterprises, Civil Society and Community Development groups in the country.

NIKKI ANGEL 4 LIFE PROJECTS AT A GLANCE

The Highlight of the seminar will be the conferment of the Nigerian Celebrity for Charity Award on Recording Artiste/Humanitarian, Nikki Laoye (Celebrity Voice, NCFRMI SouthWest) in recognition of her sincere devotion to humanitarian causes in the Country.

For the past five years, Nikki Laoye is renowned for her humanitarian projects via her Angel 4 Life Foundation, an organisation committed to supporting the development and empowerment of people with disabilities (visually impaired and physically challenged youths) and people of National Concern (Internally Displaced Persons & Refugees).

Some of her foundation’s projects include The Isaac Olushola Educational Project for Students with Disabilities; The Buy A Cane Project (a mobility aid project for the visually impaired community); #5KForKelechi (a fundraising project for paralytic scoliosis female, Kelechi Uhegwu) and Christmas Day Out with Nikki Laoye (a day of fun and trips for youths with disabilities)

Last year, Nikki Laoye was made the Celebrity Voice for federal government agency, NCFRMI SouthWest (National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons) to bring to the forefront the activities of the NCFRMI as well as the plight of refugees, internally displaced persons and other persons of concern.

In line with her service as an ambassador for the commission, Nikki Laoye and her foundation have been working with NCFRMI and other agencies via their humanitarian projects – “The Angel Relief Fund – TARF” and “School Without Walls Project” to further support the ongoing relief works for displaced families from Northern Nigeria by providing food, clothes, medical supplies and also support the education of the children as they rebuild their lives in IDP camps across Nigeria.

This Award will be Nikki’s third humanitarian award in recognition of her passion and service as an advocate for people with disabilities and persons of National concern (Internally Displaced Persons and Refugees).
