Erica Campbell of the Mary Mary fame has certainly struck it big with her new album Help.

The album released in the last week of March, sold approximately 25,000 copies in its first week.

The album which carries the singles A Little More Jesus and Help (which features LeCrae) as well as other songs is a brand new venture for Erica as a solo artiste.

“I didn’t know how she was going to respond, but I knew she was not in work mode in 2013. She shut everything down,” said 41-year-old Erica, who is two years older than Tina.

“I did quite a few Mary Mary dates by myself. I did dates where they initially wanted Mary Mary. When you do that for so long, you build up this thing where I’m getting used to this. I was enjoying it.”

However, the road to releasing the album was paved with obstacles  including her father’s death, a ruptured vocal chord, parting ways with her manager and helping her sister Tina overcome marital infidelities publicly.

“I just want to reach as many people as possible. I want people to be ok with asking for help,” Erica told The Christian Post.

“A lot of times we let our ego get in the way and we don’t ask not only God but we don’t ask anybody for help. And we suffer silently, and it’s not necessary”.
