Chevelle Franklyn’s latest album #SetTime debuts on Billboard Reggae Chart

Jamaican Gospel Queen, Chevelle Franklyn expressed her excitement in a recent interview as her latest album, ‘Set Time‘ debuted on the Billboard Reggae Chart.

“I got a call that it charted on the Billboard, and for me, that’s humbling.

Being a music minister, getting on charts is not a priority for me, but it happened, and I’m grateful to God.

The achievement is encouraging of course. Now I’d love for it obviously to go number one, but I’m waiting on it to take its course.”

The album made it to number 12 and is said to be the first time in over 26-years of music that the singer has appeared on the billboard charts.

On Instagram the singer expressed her appreciation and emphasized that it was the only Christian album in the top 15.

“THANK YOU! The Lord has laid the music on my heart and NOW is the “Set Time”.

The album debuted no. 12 on the Reggae Billboard Charts and is the ONLY Christian album in the top 15.

Let’s get it to No. 1! Lift up JESUS! If you don’t have a copy, go get it now!”

While explaining the inspiration behind the name “Set Time“, the singer revealed that she didn’t want to get caught up in the pressure of releasing a song.

“Set time means the appointed time, the right time.

For me I didn’t want to get caught up in the whole pressure of the industry trying to put something out because I wanted to stay relative

I wanted to be at a place where I did what I needed to do to get it right so that when it comes out it will be a blessing to people.

The bible says the steps of the righteous are ordered

For me it was in my spirit to call it set time because I have been through a place of maturity and there is to much to say.”

In the album, Chevelle features Grammy award-winning artistes Donnie McClurkin and Israel Houghton.

The album consists of an 18-track compilation and was officially released August 25th 2017 via Now Records, and it happens to be Chevelle’s first studio release in more than five years.
