“The Eighth: Least Of Me” – Written by Amy

p2

Here I am, laying down all of my perfections
All of the accolades
The trophies that I have garnered
Having found my way to this mountain top,
There’s nothing left for me to achieve… or so I thought
What need does He have of me now?

“This is not all”, He says…
“You left behind the 8th
Search deeper for the 8th, the one I have named,
Anointed, Chosen, as My pleasing sacrifice…”

With resounding applause,
The best of me has been appraised
Placed on the highest cadre
They say, “Behold the Lord’s anointed”…
I have paraded all of my perfections
Full on the outside, yet bland on the inside
One after the other, I have laid down my skills
Yet, non pleasing, befitting for my King

Again, He says, “Is this all you’ve got?”
“All, you’ve laid down but the 8th…
The 8th… the weakest, unexplored, hurt, broken part of you…
I’m in need of that part of you,
The part that accounts for nothing…”

You have chosen to use me in my weakest point
Picking up the broken pieces of me
Moulding me from nobody to somebody
Saying, “in your weakness, find strength”
Showing to the world, Your trophy, Your beloved
You say the best is nothing compared to the future You’ve placed before me
In my nothingness, I now have encompassed, all that You are
Beauty upon beauty, Wisdom upon wisdom, Grace upon grace

Just when I thought I had exhausted the best of me
Having laid down all of my perfections
You say, “I am just beginning to use you”…
Beloved…
