EXCLUSIVE: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and Benny Hinn To Storm India for Prayer Conference

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

One of Nigeria’s most influential pastors, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome is set to share a ministry platform with American evangelist Benny Hinn at a prayer conference in India next week.

The conference hosted by Bethel Assembly of God church in the city of Bangalore, is scheduled for January 15 – 17, 2014.

The Bangalore Mirror reports that entry fee into the prayer conference is $13 (about 850 Rupes), about less than 7% of the average monthly income of locals in the area.

The newspaper also reports that the conference has drawn protests from several groups who are seeking the Indian authorities to bar Benny Hinn from entering the country.

The protesters allege Benny Hinn has a hidden agenda to convert several people into Christianity as he had done in 2005 during a crusade, which sparked city wide protests and burning across the city.

The Prayer conference organizers have replied meanwhile that the event will not be a “healing crusade” but there will be prayer for the sick.

Other pastors for the 3-day conference include Paul Dhinakaran, son of Samuel Dhinakaran (who has been referred to as the ‘Billy Graham’ of India) as well as Bethel Assembly of God Senior Pastor M.A. Varughese.

India is home to 1.2 billion people comprising hindus (80.5%), muslims (13.5%) and Christians (2.3%).

Pastor Chris is the President of Believers Love World Inc., which owns the Christ Embassy church, a large media enterprise, massive real estate and huge investments. Pastor Chris is one of Nigeria’s most influential minister on social media with 1.3 million followers on Twitter.
