EZULWINI – Joyous Celebration founder Jabu Hlongwane has promised to gather local gospel artists for a workshop when they come to Swaziland on July 11, 2015 for the MTN Joyous Celebration 19 concert.

This was revealed by the gospel muso in his remarks during the official launch of the concert yesterday at MTN Swaziland Mahlalekhukhwini House in Ezulwini.

The concert will be held at the Mavuso Trade Centre.

Hlongwane expressed his disappointment for missing out in dialogues with local gospel artists in their previous concerts in the country where he said it had been something that was not looked into although it was significant in terms of mentoring and sharing ideas with local artists.

“This has been not looked into for the past three years of the MTN Joyous Celebration concerts and this time around we will meet with local artists to share ideas and mentor each other in a workshop setting,” Hlongwane said.

Adding, the gospel sizzling artist said meeting with local artists would also help them in terms of knowing the Swazi audience and share ideas regarding the gospel music industry both locally and internationally.

Hlongwane further applauded Swazis for their spiritual maturity in the gospel of God.

Local gospel artist Nduduzo Matse seemed to like the idea of the workshop as he applauded after Hlongwane announced the brief workshop with local artists.

Hlongwane promised fireworks for this year’s concert as he said their latest release, Joyous Celebration 19 titled ‘Back to the Cross’ was a combination of different styles from the choir.

“In this album we looked back at the beginning of the choir and with the changing styles in gospel which makes it an astonishing release,” Hlongwane said.
