Damita Haddon Announces Engagement, To Get Married Soon?

Gospel artiste Damita Haddon (ex-wife of popular gospel artiste and Preachers of LA star, Deitrick Haddon ), has announced she is now engaged.

Damita Haddon announced her engagement to photographer, Reuben Chandler via Instagram. According to Damita, the couple got engaged on Christmas Day but only decided to make it public now.

While she left out details of the proposal, Damita stated that God placed them together while neither of them was looking.

“I’m very happy because someone has found me that loves me for me,” she emoted to AlwaysAList.com. “When I wasn’t looking, it seemed like God placed him right in front of me. Funny thing is Reuben wasn’t looking for a mate either.”

According to AlwaysAList.com, Damita and Reuben first met 12 years ago while both serving at Without Walls International Church in Tampa, Florida. The two reconnected a little more than a year ago while Reuben, who resides in Alabama, was visiting Atlanta.

Damita, who is an Atlanta resident, was having a cookout with some friends and invited the photographer over.

“I invited him to stop by to hang with me and some of my friends,” she shared. “I had no idea then that it would be the beginning of us starting to date.”

Damita and Deitrick divorced quietly in 2011, and only made it public in 2012. After then it appeared Damita went quiet while Deitrick moved on to a new marriage with children, a new album (RED) and several international appearances.

Several fans, friends and family of Damita Haddon have since begun to congratulate her via social media.

The announcement comes just as Deitick and his wife Dominique announced the birth of their second child, Denver Monroe Haddon.
